Dr. Gulland Patients Spadafora siblingsWe believe every patient deserves the chance to receive high quality orthodontics at an affordable price. It is our mission to provide you with high-quality treatment that fits your budget! We offer a variety of payment options to meet your needs.

For those in a position to pay the fee in full, we offer a bookkeeping courtesy discount. We also offer in-house, interest free monthly payments.

Monthly payments are handled via auto-draft from a checking or savings account. This saves you time, checks and postage. A variety of draft dates are available.  If you prefer, you can elect to receive a monthly statement.  Payments can be made by cash, check or credit/debit card. We can even take debit or credit cards over the phone.

Outside financing is a great way to get a low monthly payment and allow treatment to start immediately. Outside financing offers additional options as well as financing up to 60 months with interest charges based on your credit history. Many do not charge a pre-payment penalty so we have had families start with outside financing and then pay the account off sooner with income tax refunds, etc. in order to save on interest. For more information please see the LendingClub Patient Solutions website.

If you have any questions about financing or payment, ask us! We will thoroughly explain your choices and work hard to accommodate your needs.

Many employers offer a variety of health benefits to their employees and orthodontic coverage is often one of them.  We work hard to ensure you get the maximum benefit possible and, as a courtesy to you, we file your insurance claims.  Orthodontic coverage differs from medical coverage and can be hard to understand and we are happy to answer any questions you might have.

If your insurance covers orthodontic treatment, you will receive the benefit of reduced personal costs. Many insurance policies have a lifetime orthodontic benefit that is distinct from regular dental insurance.

We accept assignment for most major insurance carriers. Prior to your appointment, we will contact your insurance carrier to determine the amount they expect to pay for your orthodontic care. This amount is subtracted from your total treatment fee, and we submit all the paperwork necessary to be reimbursed.  If your insurance plan is one that sends the benefit directly to you, we will still submit any necessary claims for you.  Our team works hard to make sure you get your maximum insurance benefit.

Insurance policies vary.  Some plans even cover adult orthodontic treatment.  We estimate your coverage in good faith but cannot guarantee coverage due to the complexities of insurance contracts.

If, during the course of treatment, your benefits change, we will submit new claims for you to determine if you are eligible for further benefits.

Flexible Spending Accounts

Flexible Spending Accounts (or FSA’s) offered through many employers can be another vehicle to help you meet your financial obligation. FSA’s allow you to put aside pre-tax dollars to be used for medical and dental expenses. Because the money goes in pre-tax, you will reduce your overall out-of-pocket costs for orthodontic treatment. Unlike other health-related expenses, orthodontic treatment is a “planned” event, and therefore our staff can help you estimate how much money to set aside each year in your FSA so that no funds will be lost.
