The American Association of Orthodontists® recommends a first visit to the orthodontist at age seven. Most children at this age won’t need to begin treatment. The first set of permanent molars have erupted, along with the permanent upper and lower incisors, and an early visit allows our orthodontist, Dr. Gulland, to evaluate the developing teeth and jaws.
Occasionally, we identify problems that need immediate attention. But the vast majority of children this age will enter Gulland’s Gang, our complimentary Growth and Development program.
Gulland’s Gang offers perks just for its young members. Get a treat at each visit, enter contests in our office, receive mail from our staff and enter contests on our social media platforms–just to name a few.

At Gulland Orthodontics, the safety of our patients, their families, our orthodontist, and our staff is a top priority. Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, our office employed the services of Jackie Dorst, a leading OSHA consultant, to ensure our policies and procedures met or exceeded all OSHA and CDC guidelines.
We use top-grade disinfectants to thoroughly clean all surfaces between patients. All of our instruments are either disposable, one-time-use items or are sterilized in our autoclaves, which are tested weekly by a third-party company. We have closed water systems at all exam chairs that are rigorously cleaned, maintained, and tested by a third-party company. Our staff is always committed to giving you the best care, which includes wearing the appropriate PPE and safety equipment at all times.
