Meet Dr. Dana
Dr. Dana Craig—affectionately known to her patients as “Dr. Dana”—was born and raised in the small town of Sandy Lake, Pennsylvania. In high school, she played volleyball, basketball, and softball, and worked as a dental assistant in her father’s dental practice. It was during this time that she discovered her love for dentistry and set her sights on becoming a dentist.
After graduating from Lakeview High School, Dr. Dana studied biology at Slippery Rock University. She married her high school sweetheart, Dan, and moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina, where he was stationed with the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division. Dr. Dana completed her undergraduate studies at Methodist University in Fayetteville before attending dental school at West Virginia University. There, she served as class president for all four years and earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2013. She went on to complete her orthodontic residency at Seton Hill University in Greensburg, where she received her Master of Science in Orthodontics.
Since 2016, Dr. Dana has been practicing orthodontics in western Pennsylvania. After treating hundreds of patients using a wide variety of techniques and appliances, she has developed a personalized, patient-centered treatment philosophy. She has a genuine passion for orthodontics and enjoys educating her patients on available treatment options, working together to get the very best outcome. “I love creating custom treatment plans and watching teeth move and align,” she says. “But the best part of my job is seeing patients light up as they notice their progress—especially when their confidence starts to grow.”

Dr. Dana lives in Sandy Lake with her husband, Dan, and their three children—Keira, Carter, and Connor. They live next door to her parents, and her kids are lucky to spend lots of quality time with their Nana and Papa. Outside of the office, Dr. Dana loves spending time with her family. Her kids enjoy swimming, fishing, crafting, and hunting for frogs and snakes. She’s an avid reader of personal development books, a loyal Kansas City Chiefs fan, and a proud member of Cochranton Community Church, where she and her husband are actively involved.

FAQs About the Orthodontist
What qualifications should I look for in an orthodontist?
An orthodontist should have specialized education beyond dental school, along with experience in diagnosing and treating alignment and bite issues. Ongoing education and use of modern techniques are also important indicators of quality care.
How is an orthodontist different from a general dentist?
Orthodontists focus specifically on correcting tooth and jaw alignment using braces, aligners, and other appliances, while general dentists provide broader oral health care.
Will I see the same doctor throughout my treatment?
Yes, continuity of care is a priority. Your treatment is overseen and monitored to ensure consistent progress and optimal results.
How often will I need to visit during treatment?
Most patients visit every 6–8 weeks, depending on the type of treatment and individual progress.
Can adults receive orthodontic treatment?
Absolutely. Many adults choose orthodontic care to improve both function and appearance, often using discreet options like clear aligners.
